AHA Identifies Most Frequently Reported Symptoms Of 6 Cardiovascular Diseases |
AHA Identifies 6 Commonly Reported Symptoms of Cardiovascular Disease Symptoms of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in men may differ from those experienced by women, says the American Heart Association (AHA). in English) according to their recent research review. The report also highlights the six most common symptoms of CVD: heart attack, heart failure, valve disease, stroke, heart rhythm disorder, and peripheral artery and vein disease (PAD and PVD).
The review team not only found differences in symptoms of cardiovascular disease between conditions, but the presentation of symptoms differed between men and women.
The association's scientific statement was published in its peer-reviewed flagship journal, Circulation. It was developed by a team of experts led by Corinne Y.

Common symptoms associated with cardiovascular disease
In its scientific statement, the American Heart Association lists the most common and well-recognized symptoms associated with cardiovascular disease. There:
sudden heart attack
. The pain, often described as pressure or discomfort, can radiate to the jaw, shoulder, arm, or upper back. Chest pain may be accompanied by other symptoms, such as shortness of breath, sweating or cold sweats, unusual fatigue, nausea, and dizziness. Women report more of these common concurrent symptoms than men.
Heart failure

heart valve disease
It is a common cause of heart failure, and both problems lead to shortness of breath. Mild valve disease may show no symptoms, but over the years the disease can progress to more symptoms similar to those associated with heart failure. Aortic stenosis is a common and serious form of valve disease and occurs when the aortic valve narrows and restricts blood flow from the heart.
However, chest pain is more common in men with valve disease than in women with the condition.
