Five years after its original release, Quake Champions is finally out of Early Access. The full release of id Software's free-to-play shooter coincides with the arrival of several games on PC Game Pass, which was announced today during Bethesda's QuackCon event.

First released in 2017, Quake Champions is an evolution of ID Software's classic arena shooter. When asked why it wasn't fully released during free-to-play in 2018, community developer Joshua Boyle said that Quake Champions wasn't ready.

"I would say we crawled [at launch last year] and now we're walking," Boyle said at the time.

Quake Champions enjoyed mostly positive reviews on Steam, but overall Doom Slayer and Wolfenstein's B.J. BJ BJ BJ Despite the addition of familiar faces like B.Blazkowicz, it failed to engage fans in the same way as other free-to-play shooters.

Quake Champions is currently available on Steam and can be downloaded through the Microsoft Store alongside Daggerfall. Meanwhile, Castle Wolfenstein, Wolfenstein 3D, Elder Scrolls Legends: Battlespire, and TES Adventures: Redguard are headed to PC Game Pass, where they may soon join Death Stranding.

Meanwhile, QuakeCon also provided a new look at Redfall, which will showcase missions big enough to span the entirety of the hunting space station.
